FISHER#@#$%$#@#$#@

SUNDAY RUN APRIL 23RD 2000

STEVE FISHER  did it again!! Turning the Not-Supposed-to-be-overly-competitive-Sunday-morning-run-from-the-Bank-on-Green Pond Road practice into his best competitive effort of the year, events unfolded as follows. Gary warmed up for several minutes trying to prepare for the inevitable encounter with the never-to-be-underestimated-for-poor-choice-of-where-to-perform-well Steve Fisher. As usual, Steve said he didn't feel all that good (for the 102nd time in row). Gary tried to prepare, with his 1994 racing shoes and massage lotion on the muscles.  Gene Mizzoni set the stage - he told Steve that Gary had racing shoes on - Steve wouldn't have noticed because he didn't have his glasses on. Then Gene said he would start ahead because he was only running 6:55 pace. Gary told Steve - don't give the jerk more than 10 seconds - but they somehow gave him almost a minute. So, Steve and Gary hit the mile at 6:20 (Steve didn't have a clue we were going that fast and  Gary didn't tell him). Not much to Gary's surprise, little progress was made on catching up with Gene. Steve took off, since he had no clue he was going fast. He eventually caught Gene. Gary never got close to anybody.  Steve was blown away by the fact that he ran 56:50.  Gary ran well tho' completely out of the picture at 59:54. Then Steve wanted to run more - which happened - 30 minutes on the trails. Sorry to all those that missed this wonderful day in the history of the Striders. Web Guy.
