The Striders men’s and women’s teams both finished in first place. In the Coed Club Division, the Nutter/Johnson family (Richard, Erika, Eric, Glenys) finished in second place followed by the Sikora family (Sherry, Joe, Lisa) in third place. In the Coed Family Division, the Thalman family finished in fourth place.
God's Country Marathon (Coudersport, Pa.): 7 June 2003

Comments from Charlie: The weather was bad for June, but fairly good for a marathon - it was raining lightly and steadily at the start, and continued
for two and a half hours afterwards - I wore a hat. My half-marathon time was 1:31, but I hadn't gotten to Denton Hill - the so called "3-mile hill" -
uphill, that is - I only noticed the last 2 miles - from 15.5 to 17.5 miles. And I walked up the last 1/4 mile. Unfortunately, I had to go back
down that hill. My right knee gave out at 22 miles - after walking for a 1/4 mile, I managed to (gingerly) jog the rest of the way - but a couple of days
later, I felt fine.

Comments from team captain Eva: What an exciting race last night! Check out the top women's times. There were 6 women who ran sub 18 and another 10 or so who ran sub 20. Unfortunately, none of them were Striders. However, despite the late race start, we had an extremely good Strider turnout.
By the way, the Striders teams finished in 7th, 10th and 14th place.
