For the second year in a row there was no sign of rain; remarkable for a race that has been plagued by rain and even was run in a hurricane one year. The race is known for being very team oriented, with open, coed and masters team competition. The Striders were well represented finishing second in the men’s open, first in the women’s masters, and first and second in the men’s masters.

Paramus 10K: 22 October 2000

Bruce Langenkamp 36:27 1 AG

Paramus 5K: 22 October 2000

Bruce Langenkamp 18:13 2 AG
Bill Trengove 18:42 2 AG
Richard Hotchkiss 22:32

I guess Bruce couldn’t get enough racing in this weekend; Dover Renaissance on Saturday and the Paramus 5K and 10K on Sunday. Bruce managed to beat Roger Price in the 10K but lost to him in the 5K. For his effort, Bruce won $125 in masters age graded prize money ($75 in the 10K and $50 in the 5K). Not to be out done in running both races, Fouzi Aloui easily won both races.

Bruce ran in his mercury costume (wings on his feet and hat) and still managed to finish in fourth place. However, the wind, with gusts over 30 MPH) did slow most of the other runners down. At least the end of the race finished with the wind at the runners’ back.

Picatinny 3 Mile

Thanks for the quick results, Joel!!
